The official Service Canada and CRA payment calendar for CPP, OAS, the Canada Child Benefit, the GST/HST credit and its successor the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB), the Advanced Canada Workers Benefit, and the Canada Disability Benefit. Canada Child Benefit & Canada Disability Benefit
Both are paid monthly by the CRA. The Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) is a newer benefit for working-age Canadians with the Disability Tax Credit.

GST/HST credit → CGEB, and ACWB
The GST/HST credit was renamed the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB) and increased 25% starting with the July 3, 2026 payment. Both series below are quarterly (or fewer, mid-transition) and paid by the CRA. The Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB) pays 3 times a year.

Provincial and other programs
These appear on the same canada.ca calendar. The provincial credits are legislated and funded by their province but administered and paid by the CRA; the veteran disability pension is paid by Veterans Affairs Canada on dates close to — but not identical to — the CPP/OAS run.
Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB)
Monthly, 12 payments in 2026. Combines the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC), Northern Ontario Energy Credit (NOEC) and Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC).

How benefit payment dates work
Dates are fixed in advance: Service Canada and the CRA publish the full-year payment calendar ahead of time — the dates above will not shift unless a holiday or exceptional circumstance requires a change (rare; check the official canada.ca benefits calendar if in doubt).
Direct deposit vs. cheque: Payments are issued on the dates listed, but may take a few days to arrive. A mailed cheque generally takes longer than direct deposit to reach your account or mailbox.
Missing payment window: the government advises waiting 5 to 10 business days after the scheduled date before contacting the program about a missing payment.
Multiple benefits, one deposit label: if you receive more than one federal benefit, they may not always appear as separate line items in your bank statement — check your CRA My Account or My Service Canada Account for a breakdown by benefit.

When is the next CPP and OAS payment in 2026?
CPP and OAS are paid on the same dates by Service Canada. For 2026 the payment dates are Jan 28, Feb 25, Mar 27, Apr 28, May 27, Jun 26, Jul 29, Aug 27, Sep 25, Oct 28, Nov 26, Dec 22. Both are direct-deposited or mailed on these dates each month.
Are CPP and OAS paid on the same day?
Yes. Service Canada issues Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS, including GIS, the Allowance, and the Allowance for the Survivor) on identical monthly dates. The final 2026 payment for both is December 22, 2026.
What happened to the GST/HST credit — is it gone?
The GST/HST credit was renamed the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB) and increased 25% starting with the July 3, 2026 payment. Your January 5, 2026 and April 2, 2026 payments in 2026 were still issued under the old GST/HST credit name; July 3, 2026 and October 5, 2026 are the first two payments under the new CGEB name. When are the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payments in 2026?
The CCB is paid monthly. 2026 dates are Jan 20, Feb 20, Mar 20, Apr 20, May 20, Jun 19, Jul 20, Aug 20, Sep 18, Oct 20, Nov 20, Dec 11. The December payment (December 11, 2026) lands earlier than the 20th to clear before the holidays.
When are the Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB) payments?
ACWB pays up to 50% of your estimated Canada Workers Benefit automatically in 3 advance instalments — no application (Form RC201 was discontinued in 2023). For 2026 the dates are January 12, 2026, July 10, 2026, and October 9, 2026. The rest of your CWB entitlement is settled when you file your return.
What should I do if a benefit payment does not arrive?
Wait 5 to 10 business days after the scheduled date before contacting the program — posted cheques take longer than direct deposit. If the payment still has not arrived after that window, check that your direct deposit and mailing details are current, then contact Service Canada (for CPP/OAS) or the CRA (for CCB, GST/HST credit, CGEB, ACWB, or CDB).
How do I switch to direct deposit for my benefits?
Direct deposit is faster and more reliable than a mailed cheque. Update your banking details through your CRA My Account (for CRA-administered benefits like CCB, CGEB, and ACWB) or your My Service Canada Account (for CPP and OAS). Changes typically take effect within one to two payment cycles.
