Questions this calculator answers

How is the federal public service pension calculated?

The lifetime pension uses 1.375% of the best-five average salary up to AMPE plus 2% above AMPE, multiplied by pensionable service to a 35-year maximum. A temporary 0.625% bridge applies to salary up to AMPE before age 65.

What is the public service pension bridge benefit?

It is a temporary part of the pension generally paid when the pension starts before age 65. It stops at 65 or earlier if the member becomes entitled to CPP or QPP disability benefits.

When can Group 1 members retire with an unreduced pension?

Generally at age 60 with at least 2 years of pensionable service, or at age 55 with at least 30 years.

When can Group 2 members retire with an unreduced pension?

Generally at age 65 with at least 2 years of pensionable service, or at age 60 with at least 30 years.

Does this calculator replace My GC Pension?

No. It is a planning estimate. My GC Pension and the Pension Centre use verified service, salary and election records.
