Parental Leave Income Planner
Compare leave length with the cash that actually reaches your household—government benefits, employer top-up, withholding and CCB together.
Optional household cash flow (monthly, for the weekly runway)
Average monthly family cash flow
Net benefits + top-up + entered CCB
Government benefits
50 weeks modelled
Employer top-up
Estimated withholding
EI parental family maximums can exceed one parent’s maximum when benefits are shared. A one-week waiting period may apply to the claim. Benefits are taxable; your final tax can differ from withholding.
Weekly cash runway
Smoothed weekly planning model, not government deposit dates. Week 1 is the first paid benefit week: no unpaid waiting week or pre-leave weeks are inserted, and no week is omitted. Monthly amounts are converted to weekly at x 12 / 52. Estimated withholding is not final tax, and CCB is used exactly as you entered it.
Enter household expenses to see the lowest balance, first shortfall week and minimum opening buffer.
- Employer top-up ends after week 12.

What this estimate includes
Federal EI and Quebec QPIP use different rates and week structures. Shared weeks belong to the family, so coordinate both parents before relying on the maximum shown for one person.
