Frequently asked questions
Does Quebec use CPP or QPP?
Quebec employment uses the Quebec Pension Plan. The first-band 2026 employee rate is higher than CPP, while the second additional band uses the same 4% rate.
Why is Quebec EI lower?
Quebec administers maternity, parental and adoption coverage through QPIP, so the federal EI employee rate is lower and a separate QPIP premium applies.
Is Quebec tax included?
The calculator estimates federal and Quebec income tax from annualized income. Actual payroll must also apply the employee’s TD1 and TP-1015.3 personal-credit claims.
