How it works: Your input amount is converted to an annual gross salary, then federal and provincial income tax, CPP, and EI are calculated. The net amounts show your take-home pay for each period after all deductions. Assumes 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

How Salary Conversion Works

This tool converts your salary between five common pay periods: annual, monthly, bi-weekly (every two weeks, 26 pay periods per year), weekly (52 pay periods), and hourly.

Gross conversion is purely mathematical — annual ÷ 12 for monthly, ÷ 26 for bi-weekly, ÷ 52 for weekly, and ÷ (52 × hours per week) for hourly.

Net conversion uses the annual gross to calculate total income tax, CPP, and EI deductions, then divides the annual take-home pay into each period. This gives you an accurate picture of what lands in your bank account each pay period.
